Swan Lake is a place of mass wintering of Veliki labud and other waterfowl. This is a unique phenomenon for Siberia.
You can observe waterfowl in the reserve from November to the end of March in the entourage of the Siberian winter, sometimes it is at a temperature of minus forty degrees and below. The main mass of birds is a Veliki labud and Gluvara. But you can also see Patka dupljašica, Veliki ronac, in small numbers there are Labud grbac and Tundra Swan. Numerous Vodenkos feed along the banks of ice-free streams. Here you can see Long-tailed Rosefinches, Snežna senica, Dugorepa sova, Grey Bullfinch and other Siberian birds.
There is an air service from Moscow to Barnaul, then the best option is a taxi. You can rent a car (from Barnaul to the reserve is 220 km). There are hotels near the reserve.
