Description
During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Mali gnjurac, Ćubasti gnjurac and Riđovrati gnjurac. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Šiljkan, Plovka kašikara, Čegrtuša, Grogotovac and Krdža, and sometimes others. Vodomar can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Brkata senica, Veliki trstenjak, Senica vuga, Trstenjak crvrkutić and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as Belorepan, Mišar, Kobac and Jastreb. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by. Krivokljuni sprudnik, Sprudnik migavac, Barska šljuka, Sprudnik ubojica, Sprudnik pijukavac and Polojka being the most common ones.

One small parking spot behind the bridge on the river. Click on the P in the map for directions. Don't wander of the paths as it's a privately owned area. The area can only be visited on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 5 km.
