This forest is located in the north-eastern part of Lodz city. It is the largest urban forest complex in Europe, it covers an area of 1205 hectares.
The Łagiewniki Forest in Łódź is undoubtedly a very interesting place. It is great for a long walk or a bike trip. There are many paths through the forest. A place definitely worth visiting. The area has many hills and different routes leading into the forest. Because of the size of the forest - reaching over 1000 hectares - it can be a challenge to explore the area. Among the birds you can expect are 5 species of woodpeckers and Vuga, Jastreb, Šumska sova, Ćubasta senica, Siva grmuša, Šumski zviždak, Zimovka, Batokljun, Brgljez, Šumska trepteljka, Siva muharica and Crnovrata muharica.
This forest is quite well connected. It is possible to reach by public transport. Buses stop at various entrances, giving visitors the opportunity to get off at a convenient location. Next to the Sanctuary of St. Antoniego Street, there is also a small car park, from which it is not far to the Heinzel Palace. You can also park your car from the side of Arturówek. You can get to the forest by taking the street Łagiewnicka or the Świetkowa street.
