Big wetland of 160 hectare on the north shore of the Schildmeer, built in 2001 and developed into a beautiful and unique area.

Description

This big wetland with vast reed swamps is very good for birding, It is a breeding area of among others Eja močvarica, Vodeni bik, Brkata senica and many other reed birds. In 2019 even a Vlastelica. Tetjehorn is also the resting place for thousands of Čvorak. But also for many Velika bela čaplja and Poljska eja. There is an observation tower from where you can oversee the area.

Access

Accessible from Graauwedijk between Overschild and Steendam. Enter the unpaved path on the south side (with the sign "Bicycle path") and you will arrive at the watchtower.
