Bekendelle is located along the stream de Slinge. Especially the part along the stream consists of old forest with different types of trees and a lot of dead wood. Crna žuna and Zelena žuna are also found, as well as Kratkokljuni puzić. The forest is also rich in other species such as Batokljun, Šumski zviždak and Siva muharica. The Potočna pliska and Vodomar live along the stream.

Nederlands: Bekendelle is een klein moerasbos, maar een toplocatie voor spechten. Bekendelle ligt langs het beekje de Slinge. Vooral het deel langs de beek bestaat uit oud bos met verschillende soorten bomen, veel structuur en veel dood hout. Het resultaat is dat juist dit deel bijzonder rijk is aan spechten. Het is een goede locatie om zowel kleine bonte specht als middelste bonte specht te zien. Ook zwarte specht en groene specht komen er voor, evenals de taigaboomkruiper. Het bos is ook rijk aan andere soorten zoals appelvink, fluiter en grauwe vliegenvanger. Langs de beek komen de grote gele kwikstaart en de ijsvogel voor.

You can park along the Klandermansweg in Woold near the Berenschot water mill. Several hiking trails run through the area from this location. It is possible to do a circular walk, but it is more interesting to walk the path back and forth along the stream. The surrounding forest area is much more uniform with parts of production forest and is much less attractive to birds. Early spring is the best period. There are still no leaves on the trees and the woodpeckers are fully active. In addition to birds, there are also many interesting plants and other animal species.

Nederlands: Parkeren kan langs de Klandermansweg in Woold vlakbij de Berenschot watermolen. Deze parkeerplaats staat aangegeven met de bordjes 'TOP Berenschot'. Vanaf de parkeerplaats lopen verschillende wandelpaden door het gebied. Het is mogelijk om een rondwandeling te maken, maar het is interessanter om het pad langs de beek heen en weer te lopen. Het omliggende bosgebied is veel eenvormiger met stukken productiebos en is voor vogels veel minder aantrekkelijk. Het vroege voorjaar is de beste periode. Er zit dan nog geen blad aan de bomen en de spechten zijn volop actief. Naast vogels komen er ook de nodige interessante planten en andere diersoorten voor. Op de vochtige bodem groeien slanke sleutelbloem een dotterbloem, terwijl er ook bijzondere insecten te vinden zijn zoals de bosbeekjuffer.
