Overlooking the shores of Lake Temo, the vast area of Monte Minerva is home to one of the most significant natural areas of north-west Sardinia. Monte Minerva is the highest and most extensive plateau in the area. The landscapes of the area, of great beauty and high naturalistic value, offer the opportunity to observe many birds and especially Beloglavi sup. Because of a reintroduction programm of the Beloglavi sup there are feeding stations in the area and the vultures can often be seen. Also Suri orao can be seen as they nest on the high cliffs in the area as well as other birds of prey.

A widespread network of paths and horse trails crosses the area. The route shown on the map is a 6 km long circular walk. Note: see the recent comment below!
