Description

The Pulicat Bird Sanctuary is located around Pulicat Lake, which spans the states of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The sanctuary is renowned for its rich biodiversity. Especially during the winter months (October to March) when migratory birds, including Greater Flamingo flock to the area. The sanctuary is also home to a variety of other bird species, such as pelicans, storks, and herons. See the birdlist below.

Access

The Pulicat Bird Sanctuary is located around Pulicat Lake. You can explore the area by boat or from Sriharikota Road that runs right through the area. You can see birds on both sides of the road. Along the road there are several parking bays and one parking bay has a bird watching tower where you can stop and overview the area. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot.
