Vestmannaeyjar (or Westman Islands) is an archipelago off the south coast of Iceland. The Westman Islands are home to approximately 2.5 million breeding pairs of seabirds. Among these, nearly half are Morski papagaj. More than 30 other species of birds nest in the cliffs and grassy ledges. The largest island, Heimaey, is a great place for watching seabirds and easy accessible, also by car. From the parking lot you can walk to the cliffs with breeding birds such as Tankokljuna njorka, Obična bluna, Morski papagaj, Troprsti galeb and Burnjak and look out over the sea. Also a chance of orca, seals and various other birds such as Gavka, Severni galeb, Ostrigar, Crna njorka, Mala carska šljuka, Žalar blatarić, Bela pliska and Livadska trepteljka.

Access
Vestmannaeyjar can be reached by ferry service from Landeyjahöfn. It offers several scheduled trips daily, with a sailing time of 45 minutes. On the southern peninsula of the island there is a parking lot on a hill from which you can walk in any direction. There is also a bird hide 3 minutes from the parking lot where you can stay dry.
