Thingvellir is a very beautiful national park where you can do an easy hike on the northern shore of the Thingvallavatn lake enjoying the geological and historycal value of the place and its amazing avifauna. Among the birds you can encounter are Veliki morski gnjurac, Riđogrli morski gnjurac, Srednji ronac, Zlatni vivak, Divlja guska, Alpska snežnica, Mali drozd, Veliki labud, Crvenovrata liskonoga and many others.

Access
The best way for getting to the place is by car. You can park in the parking zone where, at least in summer, you have to do a small fee. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. There are different short routes to hike around.
