Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Ledenjarka, Morski vranac, Obična bluna, Mala njorka, Arlekinka and Srednji ronac. You might also see Riđogrli morski gnjurac and Veliki morski gnjurac. Örfirsey has also hosted a male Belokrili turpan every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Snežna strnadica might pass, and along the rocks there might be Crna njorka.
