Description
The area is characterized by the enormous density of Poljska ševa . Numbers are changing but for most of the year you almost stumble over them and they are not shy at all - as aren't the other regular breeding species Velika strnadica, Rusi svračak, Obična beloguza, Češljugar or Mali slavuj. The area is a very popular public park and can get overcrowded during daytime so the best time for birding is early in the morning.
During migration time, common visitors are Crnoglava travarka, Obična travarka, Livadska trepteljka and Barska strnadica. Less frequently, but regularly observed are Šumska šljuka, Ritska sova or Šumska ševa. Also Vijoglava and Stepska trepteljka are recorded yearly, mainly in August.
Keep your eyes open for overflying raptors and waders of all kind (there are single records of Velika carska šljuka, Zlatni vivak, Siva vetruška, Gaćasti mišar, Poljska eja and so on)!
