The Bramel polder is a flood plain in the district of Cuxhaven. It is an approximately 150-hectare wetland area with a reed bed zone and little vegetation.
The Polder Bramel is a perfect habitat for waders, waterfowl and meadow birds. It is an important resting area and wintering area for migratory birds. Bird species that can be seen here include Belorepan, Ribar, Modrovoljka, Kašičar and Vodomar. The groups of resting geese, swans and ducks during the cold winter months are quite considerable. With a bit of perseverance and a bit of luck, rare species such as Velika čigra, Belobrka čigra, Belokrila čigra and Vlastelica can be spotted. Rare birds have also been documented here. These include Trobojna liskonoga, Crnoleđa sprutka and Gak.
27619 Schiffdorf-Bramel, north of the village of Bramel on Lange Str past the sports field. If you walk up the short path from the parking lot, the bird watching is great from the observation hill with a wooden wall. There is also a bird observation tower (see the map) from where you can overlook the polder.
