The ponds of Martinsweiher Niederwalgern are beautiful little refuges for birds and other wildlife surrounded by agricultural landscape. There are regular sightings of rare birds especially during the migration periods. Also it is a breeding habitat for native species. Among the birds you can see are Bregunica, Bela roda, Strnadica žutovoljka, Obična kukavica, Krdža, Patka dupljašica, Žalar slepić, Barski petlovan, Mali gnjurac and Vodomar.
