The Holtener Bruch is a beautiful open farm and riverside area in Oberhausen. The area is located directly on the Emscher river.
Holtener Bruch is a worth a visit in winter, when the fields are sometimes flooded by the river. Common birds that gather in the fields are, for example; Lisasta guska, Barska šljuka, Gluvara, Divlja guska and Crnotrba sprutka.
The Holtener Bruch is located north of Oberhausen. With car you can park in the Flugstrasse (Press P on the map for directions), and follow the path to the south and east on foot. The entire area is also easily accessed by bike.
Public Transport: There are many local buses that stop at various points in the surrounding area. And the DU-Obermarxloh - Marxloh - Beeck - Laar - Ruhrort - DU-Stadtmitte - Mülheim/Ruhr tramline ends a 30 minute walk to the south of the path on the map.
