Description
Fermasee and the floodplain of Altrhein Neuburgweier attract many birds. Parts of the lake are used by anglers and for bathing in summer. However, in winter the birds take the centre stage. There are often good numbers of Ćubasta patka, Riđoglava patka, Čegrtuša, Gluvara and Labud grbac. If you are lucky, you can also see Patka dupljašica, Prevez and Mali ronac here. Over the years, a number of rarer sea ducks and divers have been observed here, including Baršunasti turpan, Srednji ronac, Ušati gnjurac and Riđogrli morski gnjurac.
The orchards and fields to the east of the lake are a good place to look out for Drozd borovnjak, Mali drozd, Gačac and Čavka.
