Description
Eriskircher Ried is an area where many water birds (e.g. diving ducks and swans) overwinter. Also an important breeding area. Several platforms for bird watching are available. Among the birds you can see are Utva zlatokrila, Mali labud, Veliki labud, Vodomar, Morska crnka, Prevez, Patka dupljašica, Grogotovac, Krdža, Plovka kašikara, Crnovrati gnjurac, Crnogrli morski gnjurac, Riđogrli morski gnjurac, Velika carska šljuka, Žalar slepić, Sprudnik migavac, Krivokljuni sprudnik, Crvenonogi sprudnik, Sprudnik ubojica, Gak, Crna čigra, Belobrka čigra, Siva žuna, Riđa lunja, Eja močvarica and Ribar.
Good spots to observe birds are: 1) the platform next to Strandbad, 2) the mouth of Schussen 3) the platform in the middle of the area, 4) platform at north end of the area.
