Description
The Cospudener See is an artificially constructed lake south of Leipzig. The southeastern corner of the Cospudener lake and the adjacent Neue Hardt forest hold an interesting mixture of birds living in the water, in reed beds, wetland, on grassland and in forests. These include bird species such as Obična čigra , Zviždara , Čegrtuša , Karolinka (early spring 2024), Ćubasti gnjurac , Divlja guska , Žalar slepić , Polojka , Senica vuga , Šumska trepteljka , Veliki trstenjak , Batokljun , Šumska ševa , Vijoglava , Crnoglava travarka , Pirgasta grmuša and many more.
During winter, you may also find rare guests from the far north such as Riđogrli morski gnjurac , Crnogrli morski gnjurac and Veliki morski gnjurac.

Access
The Cospudener See is located on the southern outskirts of Leipzig, near the town of Markkleeberg. This route starts at the marina at the southwestern end of Markkleeberg. You can get there by foot, bike, car and bus. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. The circular walk is about 7 km.
