Description
The Altes Feld (Old Field) near Dainrode was the largest Hessian resting place for Vivak in the 1970s with daily maximums (resting population) of around 14,000. Up to 600 Zlatni vivak. Rare Planinski zujavac. Large numbers of raptors, sometimes over 50 Riđa lunja and 100 Mišar. The Gaćasti mišar is an occasional migrant and winter guest. In the cold winter of 86/87 up to 20 individuals. Poljska eja, Eja močvarica, Mali soko and Snežna strnadica regularly. Sometimes Ždral rest, often thousands of them migrating. Maximum numbers: Poljska ševa 10,000, Drozd borovnjak 10,000, Mali drozd 6,000, Čvorak 200,000, Livadska trepteljka 2,000.

Access
Altes Feld located near the village of Dainrode. The area is crossed by the B 253 and is very easy to reach. Driving on dirt roads is forbidden, but is probably never checked.
