Description
At the river Ahr are breeding Žalar slepić and Vodomar. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Kukumavka (10 territories in 2020). Rusi svračak and Cvrčić tršćar are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Mali slavuj , Vuga and Srednji detlić. You can also see Crna lunja and Lastavičar during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Trstenjak crvrkutić and Trstenjak mlakar (also common next to the Ahr). Kratkokrili voljić and Žuti voljić can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Ribar and Sprudnik pijukavac. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Vodenkos.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
