The largest archipelago in Europe: Iles Chausey. This archipelago is a great place for seabirds.
The Iles Chausey archipelago ( 16 km off Granville) has an exceptional tidal range. The landscape can change very quickly. It is a well preserved place with areas accessible only at low tide which allows the birds to rest. The interior of the island also has a hedgerow area allowing migrating passerines to rest. Srednji ronac nests here as well as in certain years the very rare Ružičasta čigra. On your way to the main island Chausey you can easily observe dolphins and many seabirds like Obična bluna, Gavka and Morski papagaj.

The easiest way is to park at the Granville ferry terminal (Rue des isles 50400 GRANVILLE) and take a boat to go to the island (there are no cars on the island, everything is pedestrian). Once on the island you can walk on the paths. In one day a tour of the island is very easily done. For more info on the ferry, see the weblinks below.
