At the far point of the island of Oléron, called la pointe de Chassiron, you find a great spot for observing seabirds!
Pointe de Chassiron is located at the end of the island of Oléron, and probably the most interesting place for the observation of pelagic birds (= seawatch), like Obična bluna, Tankokljuna njorka or even Balearski zovoj.
The best time to observe seabirds, like any bird for that matter, is from dawn until noon. The only really interesting period for the seawatch is fall. You will then be able to observe a very large diversity of open sea birds, such as: Divlja guska, Grivasta guska, Gavka, Crni turpan, Srednji ronac, Ušati gnjurac, Ćubasti gnjurac, Veliki pomornik, Tankokljuna njorka, Oštrokljuna njorka, Lastorepi galeb, Obični galeb, Mali galeb, Crnoglavi galeb, Sivi galeb, Srebrnasti galeb, Morski galeb, Mrki galeb, Crni galeb, Mala čigra, Dugokljuna čigra, Obična čigra, Riđogrli morski gnjurac, Veliki morski gnjurac, Burnica, Balearski zovoj, Obična bluna and finally Morski vranac.
During migration, it is also possible to observe a large number of passerines and Anatidae.
NB: a Crni čvorak has been nesting for several years under the tiles of the most advanced house with Čvorak.

It is possible to park in the parking lot at the tip. You can visit the site on foot. You can also visit it by bike but it will be useless because the principle is to remain static behind your telescope.
