Description
The legendary Mont Ventoux, which rises to a height of 1,912 metres, is feared by cyclists. Rising above the Provence the top of the mountain has a lunar-like landscape. In clear weather, you have an exceptional 360-degree panorama over the entire Alps range, the Massif Central and the Cévennes, the lower Rhône Valley and Avignon, the Camargue, the Crau plain and even the Mediterranean Sea. Around the summit several interesting birds can be observed. Watch out for Zmijar, Sivi soko, Suri orao, Beloglavi sup, Crna čiopa, Bela čiopa, Obična beloguza, Planinski popić (in winter) Planinski zujavac (mostly August and September), Žutokljuna galica (January to April), Kos ogrličar (spring and autumn), Gavran, Alpska žutarica, Strnadica kamenjarka, Crna crvenrepka and Gorska lasta.

Access
To reach the summit of Mont Ventoux by car, you have three main routes to choose from: From Bédoin route D974. From Malaucène route D974. From Sault route D164. There are several places to park, but around the summit most space you have on parking du Radome. Press P on the map for directions to parking du Radome. Around the summit there are several viewpoints and also trails to explore the Ventoux on foot.
