Limestone plateau surrounded by the gorges of the Tarn and the gorges of the Jonte. Nice place for observing vultures and birds of prey and many other birds.
Hures-la-Parade is a village on top of the Causse Mejean. This is a limestone plateau of 33,000 hectares in the southwest of Lozère. On the Causse Mejean, the elements rule. It is a steppe-like environment with some trees at an altitude of up to 1247 meters. Hures-la-Parade is surrounded by the gorges of the Tarn and the gorges of the Jonte. Birds that you can observe in the area are Bradan, Beloglavi sup, Crni strvinar, Zmijar, Belonokta vetruška, Vinogradska strnadica, Modrovrana, Španska kamenjarka, Pčelarica, Gorska lasta and Dugorepa grmuša.

From the village of La Malène follow the signs to Aven Armand and then the signs to Hures la Parade. You can make several beautiful walks around Hures la Parade. The 9.5 km circular walk shown on the map starts from the hamlet of Drigas. Click on the P in the map for directions.
