Etangs de Sanguinet et Biscarosse are two lakes that attract numerous wintering species (October-March). They are part of the coastal lake chain - stretching from Hourtin lake to the mouth of Adour - that are really worth a visit in autumn and winter. Among the birds you can encounter are Ušati gnjurac, Crnovrati gnjurac, Crnogrli morski gnjurac, Riđogrli morski gnjurac, Veliki morski gnjurac, Srednji ronac, Morska crnka, Baršunasti turpan, Sinji galeb and Vodeni bik.
