Description
During migration and winter the water bodies can host lots of ducks if they have not been flushed by fishermen or hunters, among which several dozens of Riđoglava patka and Ćubasta patka and several hundreds of Liska . A rarity such as the Baršunasti turpan or Morska crnka is always possible in winter. Still in winter but above all during October-November and March the wet grassland is a very good spot for Barska šljuka and Mala šljuka.
In summer typical breeders include Obična čigra and Ćubasti gnjurac on the lake, Rusi svračak in the bushes or Livadska trepteljka in the grassland.
In late summer and early autumn when water level drops the south-western water body can be very good for waders particularly Sprudnik migavac or for a Crna roda stopover. In spring when water level is higher, Crna čigra , Belobrka čigra or Mali galeb are regularly seen foraging over water.
