Description

The Ancienne Poudrerie Royale de Saint-Chamas et Miramas is a former gunpowder factory. The site spans 130 hectares along the northern shore of the Étang de Berre. Today, the area has been transformed into a protected natural park. The park features walking trails and an observation tower. Some birds can be seen only from the look-out post and the observation tower. Among the birds you can encounter are Bela roda, Zelena žuna, Ribar, Šarena utva, Ćubasti gnjurac, Mali gnjurac, Barski petlovan, Liska, Sprudnik pijukavac, Veliki vranac, Siva čaplja, Mala bela čaplja, Velika bela čaplja, Mišar, Pupavac, Vodomar, Modrovrana, Veliki detlić, Vuga, Sojka, Svilorepi cvrčić, Siva muharica and Crnovrata muharica.

Français: Le parc de l'Ancienne Poudrerie rassemble sur 130 ha plusieurs mileux : lagunes, marais, sansouires, forêt humide et méditerranéenne, prairies sèches... 130 espèces y ont été recensées. Les oiseaux d'eau s'observent principalement depuis la vigie et l'observatoire. La zone littoral est classée reserve et ne peut être visitée. De bonnes jumelles voire une longue vue sont souhaitable pour de belles observations.

Access

The Ancienne Poudrerie Royale de Saint-Chamas et Miramas is located at Route de Saint Chamas in Miramas. There are several entrances spread across the towns of St Chamas and Miramas. The park can be visited on foot or by bike. Opening hours change monthly. Check the website for current opening hours (see link below).

Français: Il y a plusieurs entrées reparties sur les commune de St Chamas et Miramas. Pour accéder à la vigie avec du matériel optique ou photographique, l'entrée Miramas le Vieux est préférable car plus proche. Le parc se visite à pied ou en vélo.
