The nature reserve Skjern Enge is a natural area of 2200 hectares consisting mainly of meadows, wetlands an lakes. It;s located in Denmark's only delta. Almost 20 years it took to complete Northern Europe's largest nature restoration project, and the result is unparalleled. Skjern Enge has once again become one of Northern Europe's most important rest areas for wading and water birds. Among the birds you can see here are Belorepan, Kašičar, Siva čaplja, Velika bela čaplja, Vivak, Labud grbac, Veliki labud, Patka dupljašica, Zviždara, Gluvara, Vetruška, Mišar, Jastreb, Divlja guska, Plovka kašikara, Ćubasta patka, Riđoglava patka and Krdža.
You can visit the (unmanned) nature center Skjern Enge on Gamle Botoftevej. The way to this nature center is signposted in the town of Vostrup. You can explore the area by car and bicycle or on foot. The area has outlook towers where you can view many bird species in this area. On the map you see a 10 km circular walk that passes the nature center and one bird tower. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking near the central outlook tower.
