Description
Aarslev Engsø used to be a drained area and was re-established in 2003 by directing the water from the two rivers Aarhus Å and Lyngbygård Å over its meadows. The lake itself now covers an area of 100 hectares and is surrounded by meadows and reedbeds. Among the birds you can encounter are Belorepan, Ribar, Sivi soko, Velika bela čaplja, Modrovoljka, Brkata senica, Čegrtuša and Grogotovac. Aarslev Engsø also attracts many uncommon birds that turn up regularly, for example Mali galeb, Crnoglavi galeb, Crna čigra, Velika čigra, Barski petlić, Pljosnokljuna sprutka, Crvenovrata liskonoga and Veliki trstenjak.
