On the pond itself breed many pairs of Obični galeb (the only occupied place in Plzensky region), Divlja guska, Liska, Gluvara and a few pairs of Čegrtuša, Riđoglava patka and Ćubasta patka. In the rural areas and meadows breed Rusi svračak, Cvrčić tršćar, Trstenjak mlakar, Obična grmuša, Mali slavuj, Poljska ševa and many others.
During the spring migration you can see birds such as Obična travarka, Crnoglava travarka, Grogotovac, Crna čigra and many other species of waterfowl. In last years Ždral is a regular guest here, especially in spring time. In late summer and autumn there is little water, which is suitable for Barska šljuka, Vivak, Sprudnik migavac and other waders. In winter Veliki svračak is a regular visitor.
Many birds come to spend a night in the reedbed, especially in the end of summer. It is the best place in the area where to watch Čvorak murmuration (thousands of birds). You can also see Seoska lasta and Žuta pliska.
