Description
The Handzame Broeken area consists of a extensive agricultural area, being mainly pastures, with scattered trees, bushes and willow tree lanes. The Kreekebeek river flows through the area and is a great spot for waterfowl, like Krdža, Zviždara and Plovka kašikara. The surrounding pastures are good for flocks of Vivak. In winter, these pastures are part of the hunting grounds for Poljska eja. In winter, area is also good for Veliki labud.
The scattered (willow) trees are great for observing Kukumavka and Golub dupljaš. The scattered bushes and fences are a great spot for breeding species, like Crnoglava travarka and Obična travarka.
