Description
Grootmeers is a 19 hectare nature reserve located along the river Scheldt. The spontaneous development of trees consisting of Willow, Birch with scattered Hawthorn and clearings attracts warblers such as Obična grmuša, Obični zviždak, Zeba, Vatroglavi kraljić and Kraljić. The pool as a wet zone with a limited stream has already produced a Crvena čaplja several times. De spontane ontwikkeling van bomen bestaande uit Wilg, Berk met verspreid Meidoorn en open plekken zorgt ervoor dat hoofdzakelijks zangers zoals Obična grmuša, Obični zviždak, Zeba, Vatroglavi kraljić en Kraljić ervan genieten. De poel als natte zone met een beperkte beek heeft al meermaals een Crvena čaplja opgeleverd. Vooral het vrij rondlopen en het afspeuren van struiken, kleine bomen en hogere bomen blijft een uitdaging. Regelmatig komt Mišar foerageren in het gebied. Access
The site is freely accessible to hikers from sunrise to sunset. In wet periods, boots are often necessary. In winter, when the water level is high, the path through the Grootmeers is often difficult to access (even with boots). Parking is possible along the access to the towpath near the Nederzwalmsesteentweg.

Nederlands: Het terrein is vrij toegankelijk voor wandelaars vanaf zonsopgang tot zonsondergang. In natte periodes zijn vaak laarzen noodzakelijk. In de winter is bij hoge waterstand het pad door de Grootmeers (zelfs met laarzen) vaak moeilijk begaanbaar. Parkeren langs de toegang naar het jaagpad nabij de Nederzwalmsesteentweg.
