Former sand extraction pit from the 1960s/70s that is particularly attractive to grebes, ducks and temporary migrants.
The Soevrein is a place for waterfowl enthusiasts. Especially in winter with species such as Ćubasta patka, Mali gnjurac, Ćubasti gnjurac as standard birds, but in recent years the lake has also had visitors such as Crni turpan and Mali ronac. Outside the winter period you don't expect anything spectacular, but migrants such as Crnovrati gnjurac, Mali galeb, Crna čigra or even Velika čigra sometimes come to stop temporarily.

The Soevrein is located directly south of the town of Petegem-aan-de-Leie. Access is via the public road "Paddepoel" but the lake itself is private. On nice days, a water ski club is active on the water.
