Description
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are Drozd borovnjak, Brezov zviždak, Veliki ronac, Vodomar, Sprudnik pijukavac, Žuti voljić Crnoglava grmuša, Mali detlić and both Kratkokljuni puzić and Dugokljuni puzić and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of Češljugar, Čižak, and in late winter Severna zeba.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find Obična travarka here and with some luck Crna lunja. On the pond you can see Mali gnjurac and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Barski petlovan, Barska strnadica, Trstenjak crvrkutić, Veliki trstenjak and Trstenjak rogožar.
