This is a great walk and easy to reach by tram. You can see many different habitats typical of Austria with its birds.
The walk starts at the pond of Hilmteich with almost always Gluvara. From the pond you walk up to the beech forest where you can encounter Crna žuna, Veliki detlić, Brgljez, Kratkokljuni puzić, Belovrata muharica and different species of finches and tits. This walk is really interesting and easy for starting bird watchers (and their kids!).
There are no parking spaces in Hilmteich, but you can easily reach this location via tram, and come back via tram too from Mariatrost. The route is 5 km long (one way).
Summer or Winter, this walk is amazing in every season!
