Description
The BNW pond is located between Nussdorf/Debant and the river Drau. The landscape around the pond is interspersed with hedges and trees. It offers a surprising variety of birds both in spring and autumn, with interesting birds like Gak, Siva vetruška, Siva žuna and Šljuka livadarka in recent years. More regular birds that can be observed around the pond and in the surrounding area are Vuga, Rusi svračak, Trstenjak rogožar, Trstenjak mlakar, Obična kukavica, Gavran, Crnoglava grmuša, Obična crvenrepka, Crna crvenrepka, Obična beloguza, Obična travarka and Strnadica žutovoljka.
At the beginning of October, the peak of autumn bird migration is reached. Although most of the long-distance migrants have already passed through, in October you can observe many species of finches and, but also some thrush species. Depending on the weather, larger groups – such as Golub grivnaš or gulls – are also possible. And where there are birds, their predators – such as Kobac – are usually not far away.
