Description

Gum Swamp has a wide variety of water birds and the surrounding dry forest and open woodland is good for woodland birds. It is also dog friendly. Birds you can observe include Magpie Goose, Great Egret, Pink-eared Duck, Freckled Duck, Australian Shoveler, Black-fronted Dotterel, Australasian Swamphen, Yellow-billed Spoonbill and Australian Pelican.

Access

Head south-west on the Newell Highway from Forbes. Turn right onto Green Road and Gum Swamp is signposted on the right. It is just over 5 kms from the centre of Forbes. Press P on the map for directions to the parking.
