Description

First Landing State park is a vast park in Virginia Beach. This birding area includes the beach and the campground part only. The beach is a geat place to scope out the Bay for Scoters, Mergansers, Ducks, Pelicans, Terns and Gulls. Snow buntings are often present in the winter. A variety of shorebirds can also be found on this beach. The campground is a good place to find migrating songbirds in the Spring and Fall, resting in the Live oaks and small shrubs.

Access

There is a big parking lot near the Visitor Center. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. Restroom facilities are available year-round. There is a parking fee. The area is best explored by foot. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 1,8 mile (3 km).
