Description

Stockhill Woods is a well known location to see podhujka in Summer evenings, and has been known for mala uharica. The pools opposite are home to svilnica and bičja trstnica as well as poljski škrjanec in the surrounding hills with spectacular views across the Mendip hills.

Access

Stockhill Woods has a car park with plenty of space, which can however get busy on Summer weekends for walkers. If you are heading North on the Old Bristol Road from Wells, you will pass the Hunter's Lodge Inn. Head over the crossroads and the car park is well signed on your right. The circular walk shown on the map is about 2,7 km long.
