Shapwick Heath Nature Reserve is a flat terrain with easy walking and cycle routes with some lovely hides. Come here to see and hear the booming bobnarica, and keep an eye out large numbers of škrjančar in the Summer months. Found opposite RSPB Ham Wall and is often that little less busy during popular times such as weekends. rjavi lunj are resident and frequently seen.
A car park with a meter is found opposite and to the West of RSPB Ham Wall, between Meare and Ashcott not far from Glastonbury or Street. A short walk will take you to various hides, and is often used by cyclists on warm days.
The reed beds are often filled with Warblers of many varieties which are a joy to find whilst looking for an elusive bobnarica. Noah's lake is a particular highlight for škrjančar with great views across the lake from the hide. ribji orel may be seen during Autumn migration.
