Excellent area for birding and wildlife in general with pools, mudflats, scrub land and a small reed bed. You can often find rare birds, particularly migrants.

Description

Pegwell Bay is considered a nature reserve of international importance as it is home to a range of seashore birds and wildlife found nowhere else in East Kent. Lots of rare and common birds including: rjavi lunj, mala bela caplja, žličarka, trstni strnad, repnik, spremenljivi prodnik, duplinska kozarka, španska kotorna, sabljarka, žvižgavka. And occasionally smrdokavra and veliki srakoper.

Access

You can park in the car park (click on the P in the map to go there directly) where there is also a cafe and toilets and the best way to explore the area is by foot. There is a bird hide, which is accessible for disabled visitors.
