RSPB car park free to members. There is a pay and display oppersite for the nature reserve. £3 per car for all day.

In winter thousands of škorec arrive to roost in the reedbeds at dusk often performing spectacular murmurations. During spring The ‘boom’ of the male bobnarica can be heard echoing across the reserve and flying females bringing food to their young. Swallows, swifts, breguljka and škrjančar arrive from Africa - up to 30 škrjančar may be seen in the air at one time.

Axel Kirby (2021-06-29)

This is well worth a visit; with patience there's much to be seen. The ability to recognise birdsong amongst reeds and scrub is a useful advantage. The group I was with had the good luck to be around when the rečni cvrčalec was located in scrub next to the South Drain.

For some reason, the reserve and the large hide north of the South Drain aren't shown on the map - don't miss it!!
