Some parts are effected by seasonal floods. The pine forests and lake narrow the area. Good spot for discover new species, not just birds but mammals and reptiles too. Among the birds you can encounter are sredozemski sokol, rjavi srakoper, zakrinkani srakoper, smrdokavra, čebelar, veliki skovik, mali detel, bledi vrtnik, rakar, vodomec, kvakač and podhujka.
Public transport is very limited to the area, only direct minibuses from Köyceğiz to Ekincik. A private car or hitchiking are best options to reach the area. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
A very isolated location, no human settlement in the surroundings. Locals use the area for grazing, so it is wise to be cautious for roaming cattle between marshes. In winter, it is possible to see wild mammals.
