On the gravel banks along the Reuss there are mali martinec, povodni kos and siva pastirica. The following species can be observed in the pastures and meadows: vriskarica, drevesna cipa, kupcar, kačar, Sršenar, repaljščica, vdovski žvižgač, rjavi srakoper.

The floodplain area is located between the villages of Hospental and Realp. You can explore the area on foot. A circular walk around the area is about 3 km.
