Description
Lönö is an excellent spot for watching migrating birds of prey that follow the east coast of Sweden. Hundreds if not thousands of kanja and skobec migrate over Bråviken. Among theese navadna postovka, Sršenar , koconoga kanja, kragulj, mali sokol, and planinski orel are often found. Most birds of prey can be seen in autumn in oktober/september.
From the peninsula you can see large amounts of passerine birds migrate esspecially in May/Oktober. Most common are the ščinkavec, travniška cipa and čižek. They can often bee senn migrating in the thousands.
In April/May hundreds of gulls and terns can be seen migrating along the coast. Among these there can sometimes pass a few rarer spiecies like mali galeb and črna čigra. In may a few migrating wading pass Lönö. Most common is the veliki škurh, which has often migrates in the thousands, at the same time you can also see smaller amounts rdečenogi martinec, zelenonogi martinec, komatni deževnik and školjkarica. On the peninsula škrlatec, rjavi srakoper and mali detel breed. In the area rjavi galeb and duplinska kozarka breed.
Hundreds of čopasta črnica, zvonec, and veliki žagar winter around Lönö. Smaller amounts ofčopasti ponirek, mali žagar, srednji žagar, veliki kormoran, and veliki galeb can also be found.

Access
The area is about 35 kilometers east of Norrköping. To reach it you have to take Arkösundsvägen from Norrköping the turn left to Lönövägen where you reach the Lönö lighthouse after 11 kilometers. There is parking space just before the houses, next to a field. It is about a 1 km long walk from the parking spot to the lighthouse. The best spot for birdwatching is at the lighthouse but there are other good spots along Lönövägen.
