Grazed coastal meadows, a harbour and an adjacent wetland that attracts many birds. You can oversee the area from an observation tower.
The area includes Galtabäck harbour, Galtabäcks skär and the Lerjan lagoon and consists of grazed coastal meadows and an adjacent wetland. Adjacent to the harbor and south of the lagoon is a bird observation tower. In winter, Galtabäcks skär is a good place for uhati škrjanec. During the spring, large numbers of geese, ducks and waders are sometimes seen. In the summer, e.g. waders and terns and should therefore be avoided a visit to Galtabäcks skär during this time. During autumn, sometimes large numbers of geese rest again, ducks and waders and also a lot of seals, often close to the bird tower. Among the birds you can encounter are belolična gos, gaga, zvonec, sabljarka, školjkarica, črna prosenka, priba, komatni deževnik, veliki škurh, zelenonogi martinec, rdečenogi martinec, sokol selec and poljski škrjanec.
The area is located approximately 9 km south of Varberg. To reach the area, drive south on the old E6 from the Ranelids roundabout in the southern part of Varberg, about 5.5 km. Then turn right at the sign Mor rup. Continue south about 1.5 km and then turn west at the sign Galtabäcks hamn. After after about 2 km you arrive at the port. Park next to the bird tower.
