Description

Les Basses d'en Coll is an important wetland reserve with 191 species seen. Winter wildfowl including kostanjevka, plamenec, afriška sultanka, žličarka and Mokož. Gulls including rumenonogi galeb. Also rjava čaplja, rakar, vriskarica, kragulji orel, kragulj and beloglavi jastreb. Rumenokljuni viharnik (diomedea) and balearski viharnik offshore. In the fields and trees slavec, zlatovranka, čopasti škrjanec and rečna astrilda.

Access

Reserve is a 8 km walk south from Estartit along the beach. By car it's 19 km. From the main road between Palafrugell to Torroella, head east at Mas Carles and look for viewing platform. There are campsites north and south. The beach gets busy so summer visits are not recommended. No buses nearby.
