Description

Desembocadura Riera de Riudoms (Maspujols) or the mouth of the Riudoms stream forms a small sheet of water when it reaches the sea surrounded by some reeds. mlakarica and zelenonoga tukalica breed here. However, it is during migration when other species such as plašica, srpična trstnica, or Mokož can be seen. It is in winter when the place is most interesting to visit, especially to look for some sivi galeb among the črnoglavi galeb and rečni galeb or a ameriški rečni galeb that has been wintering here for several years. Also, if you look out to sea, you can find srednji žagar, čopasti ponirek or the commoner veliki kormoran or vranjek.

If you visit the place from November to march after 4 pm you can wait until dusk when thousands of črnoglavi galeb come to rest at sea after washing their plumage in fresh water. But you never know which place they will choose. It can be north of this point, also in Salou, or just south the Cambrils fishing port.

You can go walking or by bike easily from Salou or Cambrils. There is also a bus stop near by. You can also park easily if you don't go in the summer. But in summer the place has little interest anyway.
