Description
Mali Pesak Pastures Reserve represents the easternmost dunes of the Deliblato Sands dune system. Protected in 2015 as a part of the Karas-Nera Reserve, it consists of grassland on rolling sand dunes along the eastern bank of the DTD Canal.
Characteristic birds of these dry and sunny areas are smrdokavra , čebelar , divja grlica , čuk , rjavi srakoper , hribski škrjanec , poljski škrjanec and čopasti škrjanec , breguljka , pisana penica , kupcar , rjava cipa and drevesna cipa , rumeni vrtnik. Birds of prey include Sršenar , rjasta kanja , kačar , mali orel , močvirski lunj , etc. During migration, zlatovranka too.

Access
The area is accessible from the Dubovac to Vracev Gaj road, as well as from the Grebenac to Dupljaja road further north. Zoom in on the map and click on the "P" (parking) sign for driving directions.
Grassland driving is prohibited, park by the roadside and explore Mali Pesak on foot. Between the southern and the northern tarmac roads there are 6.5 km as the crow flies. Carry plenty of water on hot days.
