Due to the presence of shallow pools, the Vadu area is popular with waders such as ploskokljunec, polojnik, Temminckov prodnik, mali prodnik, beloceli deževnik and ozkokljuni liskonožec. In spring and autumn it is a good place for migratory birds. But also in summer many marsh birds such as rjava čaplja, plevica, belolična čigra, kvakač, rjavi lunj, mala tukalica and Plevelna trstnica are breeding in this area.
