Situated on the banks of the upper course of the Mures river. The river is more like a creek at this point.
The Senetea Wetlands are situated on the narrow tidal plains of the Mures river. Composed of wetland, reed beds, grasslands, bushes, willows and silver birch. In springtime the crown jewels of this habitat are škrlatec, kobiličar and rumeni vrtnik, although the last is a bit rarer to spot.
Senetea Wetlands are located near the tiny Senetea farming community, part of the Suseni township. Acces from the west via road 138. Arriving from Odorheiu Secuiesc turn right just across the Koszikla Pension & Restaurant then take the narrower gravel road on the left. Arriving from Suseni turn left just across the Koszikla Pension & Restaurant. Acces from the east is from Voslabeni village. Look for road 126 (direction Suseni), after crossing the railroad in about 225 meters keep going straight on the left on gravel road and in about 150 meters turn right. Keep going straight until you cross paths with a disused railroad. The wetlands start from there. Parking on the side of the road, but totally on the shoulders if possible. The visit is about 2 hours on foot, no paths, just roaming around.
There used to be a small watchtower, but in really bad shape.
